When your pets are patients at South Baton Rouge Animal Hospital, they automatically become members of an extended family that includes Sherwood South Animal Hospital in Baton Rouge.
The emergency and critical care doctors at Sherwood South are experts in the evaluation and treatment of emergency cases, and the support team is specially trained to provide 24-hour monitoring and intensive care services.
If your pet experiences a life-threatening condition after clinic hours, or if we treat your pet at South Baton Rouge and determine that extended care is necessary, you will be referred to Sherwood South Animal Hospital. When necessary, we will provide transportation for your pet to Sherwood South. At our Sherwood South Critical Care facility we have a full range of therapies and diagnostics available including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, blood transfusions, and CT.
Seek emergency help immediately for pets experiencing
- Trauma, such as being struck by a car or burn injuries
- Bite wounds
- Trouble breathing
- Poisonings
- Abnormal heart rate
- Seizure
- Substantial blood loss
- Post-op pets experiencing complications
