Wellness Exams

Annual wellness exams form the foundation of your pet’s care. Every pet is different, and regular checkups provide a valuable opportunity for us to get to know and understand your pet’s individual needs.

Vaccines

At your pet’s checkup, we will discuss your pet’s risk factors and administer appropriate vaccines.

CORE VACCINES FOR CATS:

• Rabies (mandated by law)
  
• FVRCP: Prevents rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia
  
• FeLV: Prevents feline leukemia (for outdoor cats or cats otherwise at risk)
  

CORE VACCINES FOR DOGS:

• Rabies (mandated by law)
  
• Combo Vaccine: Guards against distemper, parvovirus, leptospirosis, as well as parainfluenza.
  
• Bordetella: Prevents kennel cough (important for dogs that visit groomers, boarding facilities, dog parks)
  
• Canine Influenza: Protects against the most prevalent strains of Canine Influenza (H3N2 and H3N8) which can cause permanent lung damage.

Parasite Prevention

Fleas, ticks, heartworms, and internal parasites pose big problems for pets in South Baton Rouge. We strongly suggest parasite prevention year round to protect your pets and your home from infestation. We’ll help you choose the option that’s best for your pet.

Nutrition & Weight Management

A healthy lifestyle begins with healthy nutrition. We can help you choose the best foods for your pet’s optimal health and recommend suitable exercises and daily activities.

Microchipping

Microchips provide a quick, easy, and permanent way of identifying your pet. The procedure is as simple as a vaccine, requires no sedation, and can be performed during any routine visit with us.

Our HomeAgain microchips come with a lifetime registration in the HomeAgain National Pet Recovery database and 1 year of the HomeAgain Membership Services (renewable annually).

Home Again Membership services include a variety of benefits including 24/7 Emergency Medical Hotline with access to Pet Poison Control.
